What are the structural types of rolling forming machines? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

There are various types of rolling forming machines that can be distinguished based on their structure. Commonly used types include cantilever rolling forming machines, double end rolling forming machines, standard rolling forming machines, double layer rolling forming machines, and quick change rolling forming machines. Let's introduce their respective structural characteristics and their advantages and disadvantages.

1、 Cantilever type rolling forming machine.
For some simple forming plates, cantilever rolling forming machines are a commonly used type. The axis of the cantilever molding machine is supported only by one side of the wall panel, while the other side is suspended. It is usually used for forming profiles with simple cross-sections or single sided profiles.
Advantages: Low cost, simple installation, and easy edge bending of any width of sheet metal.
Disadvantage: Because there is only one side screw adjustment, the gap between the left and right sides of the forming roller is not easily adjusted evenly, and it is not suitable for producing plates with high precision requirements. Because only one side is subjected to force, it is not possible to form too thick sheets.

2、 Double end rolling forming machine
The double end rolling forming machine is composed of two sets of forming rollers installed relative to each other, and their foundation and drive are shared. A dual end molding machine can be made into a movable one, which can produce products of different widths. The minimum material width that can be produced is determined by the closest distance that the forming rollers on both sides can move. The maximum material width is determined by the maximum distance that the two rollers can move apart. They can be made fixed on one side, movable on the other, or movable on both sides. A movable molding machine, where the centerline of the profile changes with the width of the product. Two movable forming machine centerlines remain unchanged, suitable for profiles that cannot be changed in conjunction with other auxiliary machining centerlines. The width adjustment method can be designed as manual or servo motor adjustment.
Advantages: It can produce products with different widths and sections, and can be adjusted at will. For products with multiple shapes and widths, using this structure of the molding machine is an ideal way to save equipment procurement costs for enterprises and reduce the occupied area of the factory building.
Disadvantages: High processing difficulty, high installation requirements, and high production costs for a single machine. Not suitable for producing high-precision profiles. It cannot be used to produce profiles that are too thick or too strong.

3、 Standard rolling forming machine
The standard rolling forming machine is a commonly used design method. The general drive side frame is the shaft positioning side, used to provide power. The operating side is the other end of the supporting shaft, which is movable, making it easy to replace the rolling wheel.
Advantages: Low processing requirements, low overall production cost, and can be used for the production of high-strength profiles.
Disadvantage: Unable to produce multi section profiles, usually used for fixed width product production.

4、 Quick change rolling forming machine.
Quick change rolling forming machine is also a commonly used method, which shares a single host and designs multiple sets of compatible roller modules based on the structure of the host. Each set of modules can produce a product with a cross-section shape.
Advantages: Saving workshop area, reducing equipment procurement costs, and later requiring the production of other models of products, only requiring a customized set of molding modules.
Disadvantage: If the production demand for multiple products is large, the production of the order cannot be met through replacement
