Cold rolling forming is a process of rolling steel at room temperature. It usually takes the hot rolled steel coil as raw material, after a series of treatment steps, and finally get the cold rolled steel plate with excellent surface quality and mechanical properties.
The process of cold rolling forming mainly includes the following steps: First, the hot rolled steel coil needs to be pretreated by phosphorus removal and stripping to ensure the surface quality in the cold rolling process. Subsequently, the pretreated hot rolled coil was sent to the cold mill for multiple cold rolling. In this process, the steel plate will go through multiple reverse cold rolling stages, gradually reaching the required thickness and surface quality.
In the cold rolling process, due to the continuous cold deformation, the steel plate will produce processing hardening, resulting in its strength, hardness rise, and the decrease of the tough plastic index. Therefore, cold-rolled steel plates usually require recrystallization and annealing to restore their plasticity and toughness. The annealing process eliminates the processing hardening produced by the cold deformation through recrystallization, so that the steel plate can recover the original mechanical properties.
After cold rolled forming, the steel plate should be refined, including leveling, straightening and edge cutting, to further improve the dimensional accuracy and surface flatness of the product. These processing steps ensure the excellent performance of the cold-rolled steel plate in the subsequent processing and use.
Compared with hot rolled steel plate, cold rolled steel plate has the significant advantages of high surface finish, high dimensional precision, high strength and hardness. These characteristics make the cold-rolled steel plate widely used in the automobile, home appliances, hardware and other industries. At the same time, with the continuous development of industrial technology, the production process of cold-rolled steel plate will be more refined, and its market space in the high-end application field will be further expanded.
